Responsibilities

Responsibilities

 

Performs under the responsibility and supervision of a Radiation Oncologist assessments diagnostic and therapeutic tasks and procedures with acknowledgement of patients age. He/she will plan prescribe and treat in accordance with written protocols and within the area of competency of his/her supervising physician. Reports to the supervising physician for all medical concerns and to the Area Director for others. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.

• Evaluate new patients: take history and perform pertinent physical examination
• Provide post surgical wound care and follow-up
  
• Coordinate care of patients: testing and preparation for procedures
• Ensure availability and completeness of documentation, reports and imaging examinations
• Provide patient education, counseling and instruction
• Follow-up care
• Dictate progress notes, history and physical, and discharge summaries (not to include determining diagnosis or treatment plan)
• Perform Chart audits
• All other specific tasks delegated by supervising physician in accordance to the Physician Assistant's knowledge and experience developed under the supervising physician in the field of Radiation Oncology
• Re-evaluation at follow up is performed and documented.

Qualifications
Minimum Required

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant training program
• CT CPRBLS
• CT PA
• Able to take medical history assess medical condition and interpret findings Able to prepare and maintain records write reports and respond to correspondence Skill in developing and maintaining clinic quality assurance and a continuous quality improvement 

Preferred

• Preferably two years of primary care clinical Physician Assistance experience one year minimum experience in an Oncology setting preferred

• CT ACLS;CT PALS

Pay Range
$56.82 - $82.39 /hour
