Physician Assistant - Primary Care

First Choice Health Centers is looking for a Physician Assistant with experience working in primary healthcare. This position is accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks in delivery of direct patient care in an outpatient setting. This position is located in East Hartford, CT. Bilingual English/Spanish speaking is desired.

• The salary range for this position is $110,000 - 140,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to years of related work experience, certifications, etc.

Experience and Training:

• A master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• A current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Connecticut.
• A certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• At least one year of experience working as a Physician Assistant in a Primary Care setting, preferably in a community health center or similar environment.
• A commitment to serving diverse and vulnerable populations with compassion and respect.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Connecticut Controlled Substance license and DEA license
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Standard Job Duties:

• Evaluates, assesses patient illness/injuries.
• Performs physical examinations, and special examinations.
• Takes medical histories.
• Develops plans of care.
• Provides routine and illness care.
• Orders medications; orders diagnostic tests; and evaluates results.
• Assumes responsibility for patient follow-up, coordination, and referrals to other health care providers as necessary.
• Maintains patient medical records.
• Provides patient counseling/education.
• Participates in medical student and health professional teaching.
• Performs related duties as required.
