Position:Physician Assistant (Full-Time) in Neurology Department
Company: Academic Hospital Center
Schedule: 3 x 12 hrs shifts (weekdays)
Job Summary: As a Neurology Physician Assistant at the academic hospital center, you will be an essential part of the Neurology Department. Under the supervision of an assigned attending Physician, you will perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks, providing comprehensive patient care within your scope of practice. We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated, and talented candidate to join our team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Neurology Attending or Chief Resident working alongside or in rotation with interns covering the General Neurology ward cases as well as the future Stroke Service on day and night shifts. This includes new admission H&P, ongoing patient progress and notes, interacting with Social Work, readying discharges, and preparing Discharge Summaries.
- Participate in Stroke Codes during the emergent assessment and management of patients requiring thrombolytics with the Attending.
- Facilitate preparing selected acute stroke cases in the ED for emergent thrombectomy in collaboration with the Endovascular Neurosurgeon or fellow on call.
Education Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree is required.
Experience Requirements:
- New graduates are welcome to apply.
Licensing and Certification Requirements:
- Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant.
- Current New York State Physician Assistant License.
- Current certification issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
