JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Site Director, works as a member of the medical provider team delivering primary care services on an outpatient basis.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides patient care according to protocols and quality assurance program criteria, including obtaining medical history, performing examinations, and ordering further diagnostic tests as needed.
2. Provides evaluation and treatment for patients in out-patient primary care clinic under the supervision of a staff physician. Refers to complex cases to appropriate physicians.
3. Plans a program of care in consultation with physicians, other professionals, patients and family as needed.
4. Provides health maintenance.
5. Formulates problem lists based on clinical findings.
6. Provides health education and counseling to patients as needed
7. May provide family planning and prenatal care.
8. May be required to be available for after-hours on-call clinical duties.
9. Assists in maintaining and facilitating clinical administrative operations.
10. Performs protocol review and updates.
11. May be responsible for special program development, budget oversight, and program services management.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience in OB/GYN, Pediatrics, and/or Family Practice preferred.
2. Bilingual/bicultural in an Asian Language preferred.
3. Commitment to working in the Asian community, to community health care with familiarity with community health clinics preferred.
4. One to two years of work experience as a Physician Assistant
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
1.Valid CA license as PA
