Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Aide to join our team. As a Physical Therapy Aide, you will play a crucial role in assisting our physical therapists and Physical Therapy assistants in providing high-quality care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to support the therapists and assistants in delivering effective treatment plans and ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physical therapists/Physical Therapy assistants (PT/PTA)in preparing treatment areas and equipment for patient sessions and assist PT/PTA in patient care
- Greet patients and escort them to and from treatment areas
-Pull/file patient charts for each day's schedule and attach/file other documentation as needed
- Set up/take patients off treatment modalities as directed by PT/PTA
- Perform ultrasound treatments as directed by PT/PTA
- Help patients with exercises and therapeutic activities as directed by the PT/PTA
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions and report any changes or concerns to the PT/PTA
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas; change linen following each patient treatment
- Ensure proper functioning of equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs
- Wash, dry and fold linen and place in appropriate storage sites
- Clean hot pack machine outside and inside at least once monthly and empty trash containers daily. Refill lotion/cleaning product bottles.
- Perform front office duties as needed including scheduling patient appointments, answering phone, and taking messages, and taking patient payments
-Perform other assigned duties/errands assigned duties/errands as requested by PT/PTA
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

- Acute care experience

-CPR certification
