ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions of the Physical Therapist Technician Role:
- Prepare and sanitize treatment room for the patients
- Understand the uses of stationary bikes, pulley systems, exercise/medicine balls, plyometric boxes, rebounder, weight equipment, mobilization tables and benches, progressive resistive exercises as designed by the Physical Therapist
- Prepare equipment such as hydrotherapy tanks, paraffin bath, and hot packs
- Remove and replace braces, splints, and slings from patient bodies before and after treatment
- Assist physical therapy assistant and/or Physical Therapist to support patient during ambulation and gait training.
- Communicate effectively with patients/clients, the public and all members of the healthcare team
Experience and Skills Required for the Phyiscal Therapist Technician Position:
- High School Diploma preferred
- 1-year physical therapy technician experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with both patients and co-workers
- Strong Organization skills and the ability to accurately follow instructions and document information
- Bilingual English/Spanish
