Job Description: Physical Therapist- School Based Pediatrics PRN/Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Physical Therapist to join our team as a PRN (as needed) Supervisor in our school-based Pediatrics department. In this role, you will provide direct physical therapy services to students with various disabilities and supervise other Physical Therapists within our organization.
PRN- Average 20hrs per month- possibility for additional hours if interested.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of students' physical abilities and develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions to improve strength, balance, coordination, and mobility.
- Collaborate with other members of the school team, such as teachers, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and psychologists, to develop and implement customized education plans for students.
- Train and supervise other Physical Therapists in best practices, treatment techniques, and documentation requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and adjust as necessary to ensure optimal progress and outcomes for students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and other relevant records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Educate parents, teachers, and other team members on strategies and activities to reinforce therapy goals and promote carryover of skills in the school and home environment.
- Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and advancements in the field of physical therapy and apply this knowledge to enhance treatment approaches and methodologies.
- Participate in professional development activities, including workshops, conferences, and continuing education to enhance your knowledge and skills in pediatric physical therapy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university.
- Valid state license or certification to practice physical therapy.
- Minimum of [x] years of experience in pediatric physical therapy, preferably in a school-based setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of treatment techniques and interventions for children with physical disabilities.
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, students, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to supervise and train other Physical Therapists effectively.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records and other documentation tools.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various schools within the assigned region, if necessary.
This is a PRN position, meaning that hours will vary based on the needs of the organization and students. The supervisor will have the flexibility to set their availability based on their schedule and the availability of therapists requiring supervision.
