Job Description
The Physical Therapist communicates with the medical staff and other disciplines regarding patient care. Assists in establishing policies, procedures and quality improvement. In the absence of the Director of Physical Therapy, exercises direct supervision over the Physical Therapy Department.
Essential Functions
• Moves throughout the facility, appropriately assists in emergency drills and performs the physical requirements needed to deliver services as assigned.
• Develops treatment plans and provides physical therapy to customers based on orders from appropriate providers in the hospital setting as well as in the clinic.
• Maintains a positive relationship with customers and develops a positive perception of the hospital.
• Prioritizes tasks in a changing work environment.
• Demonstrates commitment to Pomerene Hospital’s Values.
• Delivers service that builds customer satisfaction.
• Actively supports and encourages Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient. Actively includes PSP / family member in the assessment of the patient and explanations/delivery of treatments and rehabilitation.
Education and Experience
- Completion of Accredited Physical Therapy Program- Required.
- Valid State of Ohio Physical Therapy Licensure- Required.
- BLS Certification- Required (May be obtained during orientation period).
