Koniag Professional Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Physical Security (Security Systems Technician) with a Top-Secret Clearance to support KPS and our government customer in Arlington, VA.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensure that all systems are properly operating at all times.
  • Analyze customer and user requirements, procedures, and problems to facilitate proper installations, automate processing, to improve process methods, or to improve existing operational systems.
  • Monitor system performance.
  • Provide on-going maintenance and backups for SID/DARPA systems.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and applications, computers, workstations, and servers.
  • Perform software installation and upgrades.
  • Evaluate and document systems, methods, procedures, and tools.
  • Establish user profiles and set up new users.
  • Assist with developing/programming reports, interfaces, and other programming activities by developing program specifications and system testing.
  • With approval, write and implement work task instructions and procedures.
  • Monitor the progress of special projects and provide updates.
  • Develop and recommend and implement, with approval, standard operating procedures, instructions, training, reports, and other documents.
  • Provide schedules for and perform backup of system data and preventative maintenance for systems and system components.
  • Prepare training packages and present training to personnel relative to the use of the various systems and applications.
  • Define personnel and functional responsibility requirements.
  • Assist the Government in controlling access to the systems (the Government shall be the only authority for determining access and privileges to the systems and/or applications).
  • Conduct audits and provide audit reports relative to the data contained in or processed by the various systems; provide documentation of legacy and new systems, installation and configurations.
  • Provide documentation of system functional processes, to include flowcharting business processes; evaluate and report new technology (software and hardware).
  • Assist in developing report formats/specifications for new reports required by system users.
  • Develop/update procedures related to system and manual processes including developing and/or updates to users' manuals, Operations Manuals, and policies, procedures, and instructions.
Required Skills and Experience for this position:
  • Must have thorough knowledge (knowledge means to understand and to have the ability to apply the requirements) of contemporary access control, intrusion detection systems, and closed-circuit television systems.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of integrated Security Systems analysis, design and implementation, database structure, report writing, and electronic Security Systems computer programming concepts.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of computer hardware systems and capabilities.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience providing the work required by this contract in a classified environment, preferably in DoD.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Electronic Security Systems programming.
  • Top Secret, with eligibility for SAP and SCI access.
  • High school diploma.
  • Should be trained in maintenance and operation of Lenel Security Systems.
  • Lenel Certified Associate; certified as a Level I Alarm Technician by the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association, or other recognized certifying authority or Electronic Security Technician certified by Department of Criminal Justice Services.
Required Skills and Experience for work at DARPA on this contract:
  • Be a US Citizen
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate SID and DARPA needs.
  • Be able to travel and perform work at other geographical locations.
  • Have the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work activities.
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language and have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Have the ability to accurately and completely prepare and maintain files, records, and reports and to convey factual information.
  • Have the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Have the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
  • Have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions with limited supervision.
  • Have skill in reading, writing, basic math, document composition, and analytical problem solving; and
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment on the contract.
  • Fluent in the written and spoken English language and shall have strong written and oral communication skills.
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
