Job description

Responsible for developing, implementing, and administering all aspects of the Bank’s Security Program and Safety Program. Act as a liaison between bank personnel and law enforcement authorities when responding to robberies or other crimes. Administers security devices and settings at each bank facility. Identifies, analyzes and controls existing and potential safety hazards and provides security and safety training to all company personnel. Advises Senior Management and bank personnel of emerging security and safety issues and consults and guides the bank in the establishment of controls to mitigate risks. Consults with Facilities Manager regarding building maintenance-related activities to ensure facilities are problem-free and safe so that employees can work, and customers can be served under the best conditions.
Essential Functions

  • Establish, coordinate and implement a security program for all offices, facilities, departments and functions consistent with Regulation H and other regulatory requirements.
    • Establish procedures of opening and closing for all locations.
    • Establish and maintain procedures for safekeeping all currency, negotiable securities, and similar valuables at all times.
    • Establish and maintain procedures that assist in identifying persons committing crimes against the bank and preserve evidence that aid in their identification and prosecution.
    • Establish and maintain fire and burglary alarm procedures for all locations.
    • Establish and maintain access control (keys, fobs, keypad and push locks) for all locations.
    • Prepare and submit a Security Program evaluation and compliance report to bank management/board of directors annually.
    • Provide initial and periodic training of officers and employees in their responsibilities under the security program and in conduct during and after a burglary, robbery, or larceny
  • Present security updates/report to designated board committee on quarterly basis.
  • Maintain evacuation procedures and conduct annual fire alarm test for all locations.
  • Supervise the installation, maintenance and operation of security devices, cameras; be on site with ATM/ITM installations, generators and other equipment installation.
  • In conjunction with appropriate personnel, research, develop and implement and test the institutions Disaster and Business Continuity Plan as it relates to the security function.
  • Monitor proper lighting in facility parking lots, interior buildings and at ITM/ATM facilities.
  • Monitor all locations for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
  • Coordinate with Facilities Manager to ensure the outside of facilities including landscaping and ingress/egress paths are maintained in accordance with appearance standards and security standards (landscaping does not obstruct security cameras)
  • Assist Fraud and BSA personnel with fraud investigations and filing reports with law enforcement.
  • Establish and maintain satisfactory liaison with local law enforcement officers to contact in the event of any emergency or committed or attempted crime.

  • Law enforcement and security experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field
