How You Will Contribute

The Photography Studio Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Photography Studio schedule.

 

Specifically, you will:

  • Track projects from beginning to delivery
  • Schedule photo orders
  • Coordinate object location changes and framing/conservation needs
  • Assists with image delivery and metadata tagging in DAMS (Digital Assets Management System)
  • Maintain all communications and billing between client and studio
  • Maintain the basic office administration of the department including but not limited to managing the department calendar, invoicing, and ordering necessary supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Your background and experience include:

  • Knowledge of current photography and editing practices, equipment and software skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to track multiple projects simultaneously
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work with various departments across the museum such as curatorial, publishing, communications, and with external clients with imaging needs
  • A degree in photography, art, or liberal arts or prior equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a Photography Studio (preferred)
  • Experience using a DAMS (preferred)

 

Position and Compensation Details

  • The minimum hourly rate for this position is $18
  • This position is part-time, non-exempt, and 21 hours per week
  • This position reports to The Pappas-Sarbanes Deputy Director for Collections and Exhibitions
  • This is a temporary position of 6 months
  • Physical requirements:
    • Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus
    • Able to move items up to 25 pounds
  • COVID-19 vaccination required.
  • Background check required after a conditional job offer is made. Consideration of the background check will be tailored to the requirements of the job.
