Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Job Description
Our organization is in search of a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomist II. The main responsibility of this role is to assist in performing various assigned tasks, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. The successful candidate will have experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and updating patient information. The Phlebotomist will also be tasked with collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures. You will need to fully understand all physicians' orders, match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, and package specimens for transport. The role requires understanding and compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations, and the ability to attend annual department trainings. The candidate will be expected to answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
Hard Skills
- Experience in venipuncture
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed (as required in some states)
- Experience in specimen processing
Soft Skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection clearly and courteously
- Ability to ensure 100% accuracy in matching test requisitions or computer labels against scripts
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 3 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Tampa, Florida.
Work Environment
The work environment for this position is a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7am to 3:30pm.
