Responsibilities
The Phlebotomy Technician will perform venipuncture heelstick and/or fingerstick for the purpose of collecting blood specimens for laboratory test procedures on neonate infant adolescent adult and geriatric patients. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of St. Bernardine Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support St. Bernardine Medical Center’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- One year acute hospital experience or equivalent with at least 6 months pediatric/infant/neonate experience will be given preference.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Computer skills desirable.
- Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician I in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 3 Division 2 of the California Business and Professions Code and Title 17 of the state of California
- Current BLS for HealthCare Providers.
Pay Range
$24.40 - $29.17 /hour
