Through the leadership of the Pharmacy Leadership Team, the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is responsible for the direct oversight of Pharmacy Technician staff and technician driven operational processes in the inpatient pharmacy department and satellite areas. Responsibilities are inclusive of management of all aspects of assigned technician direct reports (employee evaluations, human resource management, etc.) as well as overseeing the orientation, training and competency of such employees. This supervisor is expected to manage all aspects of the technician schedule (scheduling, sick call management, and flex staffing when appropriate) to ensure targeted minimum staffing requirements are met and targeted budgets are maintained. The Technician Supervisor is expected to develop and maintain standard workflows for all scheduled Pharmacy Technician positions and work with advanced technicians and members of the pharmacy leadership team to support workflows in the various satellite areas to ensure compliance with the organizations regulatory requirements. In addition, the Technician Supervisor is expected to monitor and manage unit inspection compliance and follow through in a timely manner.
The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor will be expected to maintain proficiency as a technician and work in a staff role as necessary or appropriate. This may also include maintaining proficiency in satellite pharmacy areas. The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor will perform other leadership and administrative duties as assigned (staffing, special projects, etc.), attend appropriate hospital committees, and is able to react to (and embrace) change.
Adheres to system and department compliance policies, and any and all applicable laws and regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
