Pharmacy Technician IV - Retail

Job Specifics and Requirements:

• Must be able to work in the Houston, TX area

• Must have a valid, clear and active Texas Pharmacy Technician license

• Must be PTCB certified

• IV certified - bonus but not required

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 1-3 + years of Pharmacy Technician Retail experience

• Background and Drug Screening

• Health Screening required

• Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccine

Pharmacy Technician IV - Retail

Responsibilities:

• Assists in maintaining inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and supplies by notifying purchasing when items become low or increased usage of particular items in observed: utilized the “short list”.

• Maintains drug storage systems through restock and trouble-shooting functions

• Computer skills preferred, using Computer RX software experience is preferred

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and patient privacy standards set by the department as well as hospital

• Retail - strong customer service skill

• Answer the telephone and front window.

• Compounds products in IV Lab using sterile, aseptic technique

• Gather items needed for miscellaneous requisitions, orders, crash carts, etc. to be checked by pharmacists prior to dispensing.

• Maintains clean and orderly work area; restocks returned medications, restocks work area to appropriate levels.

• Maintains Unit Inspections outside the department

• Perform charges and credits for floor stock sheets, narcotic sheets, miscellaneous charge slips, and returned medications into the computer system.

• Processes medications in assigned area (OR, IV lab, first fill) in preparation of final dispensing by the pharmacist.
