Pharmacy Technician

Express Employment Professionals is looking for a Pharmacy Technician for a pharmacuetical company based in Brooklyn. They will be responsible for supporting Retail Pharmacists in prescription verification and data entry and customer service. Performs pharmacy support activities under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Essential Functions:

1.    Resolve insurance issues

2.    Assist with prior authorization submission

3.    May be first point of contact for customers, so it is very important that customers are greeted and assisted in a friendly and professional manner.  

4.    Accurately enter prescription information, shall ensure accuracy of patient information and receive patient payment.

5.    Scheduling pick-up dates with patients

6.    Ensure that the patient receives timely service, high-level of customer service and all medications are accurately dispensed per order

7.    Must have knowledge of and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures.  

8.    Other responsibilities may include receiving patient refills by telephone, directing calls or taking and relaying messages, organization and appearance of the pharmacy front-end, ordering and pricing front-end merchandise.  

9.    Shall work under the supervision of a pharmacist and is not permitted to perform duties restricted to pharmacists or technicians.

 Qualifications:

Education: H.S. Diploma or equivalent

Licenses/Certifications:  Pharmacy technician certification a plus

Specialized Skills:

1.    Must be able to work 5 days per week - 40hrs

2.    Must pay close attention to detail; Must have data entry/proofing experience

3.    Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred

4.    Certified Pharmacy Tech license a plus

5.    Knowledge of USP 795

6.   Micro Merchant experience a plus

7.    High level of customer service interaction is a must.

8.    Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills:

a.    Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications and

b.    Digital dexterity, e.g. use of a computer keyboard.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

1.    Physical Activities:  Standing, sitting, reaching, grasping, lifting, walking, climbing and kneeling.

2.    Mental Activities:  Perform activities requiring sustained concentration. e.g. planning.
