Job Summary and QualificationsThe Pharmacy Technician lends support and assistance to the pharmacist staff in the following areas: Delivering new medication orders (every 30 minutes); performing cart exchanges (daily); receiving and stocking merchandise; IV preparation (per competency training parameters) and delivery; automated dispensing machines (Pyxis) restocking; patient billing; discharge medication processing (retrieval from nursing units); medication cart fill; report printing; inventory control repackaging (bar-coding); nursing unit inspections (monthly); crash cart inspections (monthly); refrigerator temperature log (daily); IV hood cleaning logs (daily). All other pharmacy operational duties as deemed necessary by the director or staff pharmacist.
What qualifications you will need:- State Licensed Pharmacy Technician, or State Licensed Pharmacy Intern, or Special Work Permit from the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy
- Hospital experience and IV compounding experience high desirable
- Work Schedule: 7 on/7 off from 9p - 7:30am
