The Opportunity
This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we're committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will ensure that prescription and nonprescription medical device products are packaged and ready for distribution, manage the storage of all materials for kitting, perform production planning activities, and HMDR Exemptee review activities for prescription type orders. (Training will be provided to obtain an Exemptee License in order to perform Exemptee review activities.) This is an onsite opportunity in Milpitas, CA.
What You'll Do
  • Works directly with the Production Planning to organize and complete Kit Packing jobs within the required time requirements.
  • Releases sales orders to the Kitting area and completes medical production lot history records and paperwork efficiently and accurately.
  • Responsible for the Rx Inventory is safely and securely stored in the controlled inventory area according the HMDR (Home Medical Device Retail) procedures.
  • Perform Exemptee review activities for prescription type orders.
  • Distributes or delivers finished kits to appropriate department or stockroom, including the controlled Rx Inventory
  • Creates finished device product labels following procedures to control labels, equipment, and artwork files.
  • Participates in routine cycle counting program.

Experience You'll Bring
Required
  • High school diploma or general education degree.
  • Must have Pharmacy Technician license/certificate, or 12+ months working in a pharmacy or in the distribution of pharmaceuticals or dangerous medical devices is required.
  • Working understanding of computer systems and the operation of business/inventory/ enterprise resource planning systems software for processing orders or prescriptions.
  • Experience with perishable products with temperature and shelf-life requirements
  • Must be well organized with the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment in compliance to Board of Pharmacy Laws or Medical Device regulations (21 CFR 820).
  • Strong attention to detail, reading, writing, basic arithmetic skills required and ability to follow procedures and safety protocols.

Preferred
  • Experience working in a warehouse, shock room or shipping.
  • Experience with labeling printing and bar code scanning equipment/software.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Team player that must possess a "can-do" attitude.
