SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. or from 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.; every fourth Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists pharmacists in the preparation of pharmaceuticals including but not limited to: filling medications orders, filling medication carts, preparing labels and data entry.
Counts, packages, and labels medication orders for inspection by a pharmacist, ensures secure storage of controlled substances on a regular basis.
Complies with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Refills automated dispensing devices.
Assists with the preparation and delivery of IV’s.
Maintains department records, reports, and files as required by law and Johnson Memorial Health (JMH).
Performs duties of the inventory technician when required.

QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Must 1) maintain a current PHARMACY TECHNICIAN license; or 2) must be a student at an approved college of pharmacy with a current Pharmacy Intern license; or absent 1 or 2 above, may enter JMHs Indiana State Board of Pharmacy approved training program as a Pharmacy Technician- in -Training with Pharmacy Technician certification to be obtained within 12 months of entering the program.
