Pharmacy Technician (Float) $3,000 SIGN-ON BONUS
Fulltime Mon-Fri 8hr shifts
SUMMARY:
The Pharmacy Technician will assist the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Director with the day-to-day activities in the pharmacy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Stay knowledgeable on current pharmacy software operations and functionality to promote efficient and quality workflow in the dispensing pharmacies.
  2. Helps patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders.
  3. Creates and updates patient health and insurance information in the computer.
  4. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with local state, federal, and company regulations.
  5. Communicates with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims.
  6. At point of sale, verifies that customer receives correct prescription(s).
  7. Completes medication stock orders, place orders on shelves, and verifies all associated paperwork.
  8. Enters prescription details into a patient’s profile, selects correct medication and strength, places in appropriate container, and applies label before referring to a pharmacist for review.
  9. Answer telephone calls.
  10. Performs manipulative, nondiscretionary functions associated with the practice of pharmacy.
  11. Compound oral solutions, ointments, and creams; prepare bulk medications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. National Certification, required within 365 days of employment
  2. No felony charges on record
  3. High School Diploma or GED
  4. CPR – BLS (basic life support) required.
  5. Professional demeanor
  6. Ability to respect confidentiality of patient data
  7. Strong communication skills
  8. Knowledge of insurance and third-party payment systems
  9. Ability to work as a team member.
  10. Ability to type at least 35 wpm
  11. Computer experience desirable.
  12. Knowledge of medication brand and generic names.
  13. Ability to work with a culturally diverse group of people.
  14. Must be willing to work flexible hours as required by position.
