Form of workFall River Health Services is looking for a Pharmacy Technician is an entry-level pharmacy position, under the supervision of the Pharmacy Supervisor / Staff Pharmacist, who fills routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals and performs related duties as assigned by the Pharmacist.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Count, packages, and labels medications for inspection by pharmacist.
- Assist with medication cart preparation including filling, delivery, billing, and crediting of medications.
- Maintain drug inventory, procures medications via wholesaler, assists with medication recalls, and returns outdated medications for credit as needed.
- Make routine deliveries to nursing stations and ancillary departments.
- Maintain competencies as related to making IV admixtures under the supervision of the pharmacist.
- Prepack unit dose medications using the pre-packer.
- Answer phones.
- Perform inspection of medication areas, removing outdated or contaminated products, restocking supplies and maintaining appropriate records.
- Maintain patient accounts as it relates to billing of medications in Epic and Speedscript.
