The pharmacy intern will provide support to the CommunityCare Pharmacy Department by participating in Medicare Stars, Medication Adherence, and Medication Therapy Management Programs. This position will also provide clinical support for Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Prior Authorizations, and other clinical reviews and research as needed. Effective communication is an important part of this role. The position will be interacting with members, providers, and other departments within CommunityCare. The ability to influence members and providers to act is important.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Medication CMS Stars Measures – Provide support to the pharmacy and quality department for medication related Stars Measures.
- Medication Therapy Management (MTM) – Support the Medication Therapy Management Program for qualifying members. Review MTM gaps and complete Comprehensive Medication Reviews.
- P&T Committee Clinical Support - Work with the Pharmacy on development on clinical presentations and drug utilization reviews.
- Clinical monitoring of PBM Determinations
- Internal/External Meetings - Provide clinical pharmacy input at various internal and external meetings, as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of managed care concepts and terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications.
- Successful completion of Health Care Sanctions background check.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision making skills.
- Completion of Medicare/Medicaid Sanction.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Current and active unrestricted pharmacy intern license to practice pharmacy in the state of Oklahoma.
- Managed care and long-term care pharmacy experience beneficial
