Job Title:Pharmacy Manager (Working Manager)
Average Daily Census: 8 Rx/day
Position Type: Full-Time
Dates of Coverage: December 26, 2023, to June 8, 2024
Coverage Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, with on-call availability after hours and weekends (less than 10 calls anticipated this year)
Order Entry System: Willow Ambulatory; training provided
Site Specialty Areas: Specialty Pharmacy - Oncology
Staff Size: 2 Full-Time Technicians
Skills Required:
- Retail manager experience.
- California state pharmacy license.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and achieve business goals aligned with the pharmacy's vision, mission, and values.
- Maintain all necessary out-of-state licenses required for business operations.
- Distribute prescriptions in compliance with state board of pharmacy regulations.
- Ensure pharmacy and team members adhere to policies and standards by state and federal laws.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation and Specialty Pharmacy policies through continuous staff training and development.
- Oversee staff education, evaluate competencies, and review interventions related to patient care.
- Manage the specialty pharmacy’s financial performance, including 340B, third-party reimbursement, and budget alignment.
- Oversee the workforce efforts, drug utilization, medication use processes, and patient outcomes monitoring.
- Establish and monitor standards for a safe, efficient, and orderly work environment in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Attract, develop, and retain staff; supervise pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel.
- Schedule and conduct regular staff meetings; prepare and submit management reports.
- Support and implement programs for quality outcomes; collaborate on drug utilization management strategies.
Tech Support:
- Order entry, inventory, POS, prior authorizations, office communication, and patient delivery confirmation.
Training/Orientation: 1-3 days required before start.
Travel Expenses: Will be considered if a local candidate is not available.
