Position Title: Pharmacy Intake Specialist I

Location: IN-INDIANAPOLIS, 220 VIRGINIA AVE

This role will require you to work in the office full time. You must reside within 50 miles of the office

Available Shifts: Monday – Friday, 9am-6pm, or 10am-7pm EST - 8 hour days . Possible weekends and overtime may be required.

The Referral Specialist Iis responsible for providing support to an admissions team to facilitate the administrative components of pharmacy referrals.

How you will make an impact:

• Perform intake of initial patient referral received including but not limited to the collection and data entry of patient demographics, prescriber, medical therapy, insurance, and financial information.
• Creates new patient accounts within appropriate systems in a timely manner.
• Files incoming documents accurately corresponding to patient chart.
• Reviews referrals for completeness and follows up for additional information if necessary.
• Assigns escalated referrals to staff as appropriate.
• Responds to incoming correspondence and follows established processes, meets quality and production standards.
• Contacts appropriate parties as needed to obtain demographic information or related data.
• Enters referrals, documents communications and actions in system.

Requirements:

Requires HS diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a high-volume, interactive customer service or call center environment; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experience:

Knowledge of medical terminology

Prior data entry experience (45 wpm)

1 year of Pharmacy experience
