Summary
Faculty position at Baylor College of Medicine to establish a research program in computational chemistry and biology or other areas broadly relevant to pharmacology.
The Department invites applications from outstanding scientists for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor rank in the field of computational chemistry and biology. Faculty in the department have diverse expertise, including drug discovery, enzymology, structural biology, biophysics, and biochemistry. Our drug discovery platforms include structure-guided drug design and fragment-based and DNA encoded library-based drug discovery. The ideal candidate will provide complementary and synergistic expertise to our drug discovery efforts and develop an independent, funded research program in computational chemistry and biology. Our specific areas of interest for this position include computer-aided drug design (CADD), molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, protein design and folding prediction, application of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the target identification and drug discovery process. Preference with be given to candidates with an experimental component to validate computational results.
The candidate will supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and contribute to the educational programs in the Department and College. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and postdoctoral experience as well as a strong record of research accomplishments.
