Pharmacist - Per Diem

Saban Community Clinic is looking for a Per Diem Pharmacist to work in our closed door pharmacies(locations listed below.) This role will work at least 1-2 days per week which will fluctuate based on need for coverage. Pay is $68/hr and pay is 20% more for hours worked on Saturdays. Must work at least two 4hr shifts per month.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure that patients receive quality, timely, pharmacy services in accordance with Clinic’s mission and values; Prepare and dispense/administer medications in a timely and efficient manner to ensure that patients receive required medications, accurately and effectively.
1. Responsible for serving patients of the SCC pharmacy or dispensary, including accurately filling prescription orders and managing the dispensing function, consulting with patients and prescribers about medication regimens, providing pharmacist care and performing patient consultations on drug therapies.
2. Provide appropriate support to pharmacy technicians including directing technicians’ workflow and verifying their order entries, preparations and labeling of pharmaceuticals.
3. Actively participate in pharmacy purchases and inventory management in compliance with CA Pharmacy Laws.
4. Ensure accurate electronic billing of medications dispensed to insured patients, according to PBM contracts.
5. Participate in Quality Assurance activities including documenting patient safety issues and recommending processes to improve systems in the pharmacy.
6. Perform trouble shooting when problems arise and refer to Pharmacist-in-charge as appropriate.
7. Maintain pharmacological knowledge through educational workshops, continuing education, professional publications, etc.

Position Requirements:

• Prior experience in a retail or community pharmacy required.
• Pharmacy school: MPharm. or PharmD.
• CA Registered Pharmacist
• Bilingual in a second language such as Spanish, Tagalog, Farsi, Korean or Russian highly preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills including patience in helping clinic patients who may have language, vision, hearing or literacy challenges.
• Covid-19 vaccination required as a condition of employment as required by State law. Medical and religious exemptions may apply.
