As the Pharmacist in Charge for IV Infusions at Entera Healthcare, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of intravenous medications to patients. Your expertise in hospital pharmacy practice, particularly in the field of IV infusions, will be essential in maintaining high standards of patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Clinical Oversight:
- Review medication orders prior to administration, ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize drug therapy for patients receiving IV infusions.
- Provide clinical consultation to physicians and nurses regarding therapeutic selections.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain pharmacy practices related to IV infusions.
- Coordinate quality assurance and quality improvement activities within the specialty area.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Education and Training:
- Lead training and orientation for newly hired pharmacists and residents.
- Precept pharmacy residents as assigned.
- Teach or lecture at a college of pharmacy.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Document and report clinical interventions in the safety system.
- Maintain accurate patient profiles with relevant clinical data.
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Doctorate or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., BCPS, BPS, PGY1).
- Proficiency in handling sterile and hazardous medications.
- Knowledge of various infusion therapies and medication orders.
- Familiarity with pharmacy regulations and best practices.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in hospital pharmacy, particularly in IV infusion management.
- Familiarity with hematology, solid tumors, and common treatments.
