Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmaceutical R&D Intern to join our Ashland Specialty ingredients G.P. Life Sciences business at our Wilmington, DE location. This position will report to the Parenteral Team (INJ) Leader.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work with R&D scientists to support daily tasks such as application studies and technical service requests.
  • Perform hands-on lab trials to support new product development.
  • Maintain proper documentation of product development process and results and keep equipment logbooks.
  • Comply with company procedural guidelines, laboratory procedures, and safety programs.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
  • Currently enrolled in B.S. in Chemical engineering, Bioprocessing, Biotechnology, Material Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or similar.
  • Completed at least one (1) year of coursework toward a bachelor's degree.
  • Proficient computer skills including spreadsheet, word, data analysis, etc.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills to share development work within the organization.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
  • Self-starter with a passion for learning and willing to work in the lab.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical oral solid dosage forms like tablets and capsules
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
