POSITION SUMMARY

The Pharma Medical Device Assembler is responsible for performing a variety of manual, semi-automated or automated tasks necessary for the manufacturing of sub-assemblies and/or final product. The Medical Device Production Assembler is responsible for maintaining productivity, quality, on-time delivery and safety of self and co-workers. This position operates under minimal guidance from management or senior staff. The Medical Device Production Assembler ensures ProMed’s brand, philosophy, systems, policies, and procedures are properly implemented and observed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Follows manufacturing procedures including documentation of product traceability;
  • Operates the required molding press (Liquid Injection Molding (LIM); Transfer) in a safe and efficient manner using designated tools;
  • Ability to trouble-shoot molds and presses as required;
  • Meets established production standards;
  • Trims and inspects parts;
  • Completes assembly-related tasks like gluing, tube heat-shrinking, and resistance welding;
  • Secondary operations may include, but not limited to assembly, washing, packaging, tumbling, post curing of components;
  • Reviews production requirements and confers with lead, supervisor or manager to determine material requirements; Notifies the materials group to obtain the required materials, if applicable;
  • Runs milling equipment as required;
  • Prepares gum stock material for molding, including milling, adding pigment, and preparing load weights, and ensuring material to be molded is continuously fresh, if applicable;
  • Supports research and development projects;
  • Performs press setups, as required;
  • Reads, comprehends and performs duties as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) or Product Specific Standard Operating Procedure (PSOP);
  • Follows all start up and shut down procedures;
  • May provide temporary support to other production teams as business needs demand;
  • Meets expectations of regular, reliable attendance;
  • Other Duties As Needed: Any other duties and tasks as deemed necessary and appropriate.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Technical aptitude;
  • Ability to learn and use microscope/reticle;
  • Fine motor skills in hands/wrist and good hand/eye coordination;
  • Good vision (with or without corrective lenses);
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English;
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time;
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and priorities.

Preferred (Will Train):

  • Experience in thermoplastic or silicone molding and milling;
  • Knowledge and/or training to ISO 13485 (current) Standards.
  • Clean room component or device level manufacturing experience;
