Petroleum Service Technician

Rykin Pump Co Inc. is a retail petroleum equipment service company with Sales and Service coverage mainly in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico with growth in other markets. Rykin Pump Co Inc wants to hire people looking for long-term careers in customer service with a talent for finding and fixing problems.

We are looking for a Service Tech who is highly motivated, self-starting, dependable, honest, and has a positive attitude. Must be able to estimate projects for time and materials, coordinate material orders and deliveries, and perform work and close out requirements. Coordination with supervisors and others on work performed, and be able to handle emergencies professionally and manage changes. Open to performing other work as needed for the organization, and knowledge of other skill sets such as construction would be ideal. Required to climb ladders, crawl under equipment or in ceiling/attic spaces, have good eye-hand coordination, and occasionally work in small spaces. Required to follow all safety rules and regulations as prescribed by federal, state and local rules, laws and statutes. Timely completion of all required paperwork. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to travel, including out of town and overnights occasionally. Must be able to work extended hours periodically. Provided company phone, apparel, service truck. Pay depending upon experience level.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform petroleum equipment service and installation calls in a professional, timely, and quality manner. Complete job paperwork for each service call at the time of service. Complete training courses promptly to maintain current certifications and equipment knowledge. Act as a resource for the customer, to provide assistance and product support to maintain long term relationships. Juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment. Communicate skillfully and effectively in person or over the phone.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous knowledge in petroleum dispensers and related equipment

(Wayne, Gilbarco, VeriFone, Petro Vend)

Experience with Point-of-Sale installation and repair

High School Diploma or GED

Clean driving record and the ability to work safely

Positive Attitude

Attention to Detail

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and other computer systems

Written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work as a team member

MENTAL DEMANDS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

Location of job may be in the office, shop, warehouse, vehicle, outdoors, on roofs, in crawl spaces, above ceilings and below floors. Is frequently exposed to dirt, dust, noise, vibration, fumes, odors, wetness/humidity, darkness or poor lighting and extreme temperatures. Is periodically exposed to mechanical, chemical, electrical and fire hazards. Sits, stands, walks, bends, and twists on a daily basis. Kneels, crouches, squats, climbs and lifts several times per week. Lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently lifts up to 35 pounds.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED required

Driver License required

3 plus years of applicable trade experience is preferred
