Job Summary:

The Radiologic PET/CT Technologist will perform diagnostic PET/CT examinations utilizing PET/CT scanning equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Communicate findings to Radiologists as appropriate.

Essential functions:

Completes daily QC testing of scanner and ancillary components (i.e., dose calibrator etc.)

· Explains procedure, reassuring patient and securing his/her full cooperation during testing.

· Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patient and completes PET imaging.

· The technologist will be required to perform Computed Tomography imaging (attenuation correction) as ordered in conjunction with PET exams.

· Acquires/processes/reconstructs images when appropriate. Labels patient images with such data as radiopharmaceutical amount, time of the injection, equipment utilized, and additional patient study related information etc., in accordance with ACR requirements.

· Maintains departmental records as required by regulatory agencies.

· Consistently uses radiation safety techniques, including use of protective shielding and handling and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals. Takes appropriate precautions to minimize exposure of staff and patients to infectious, radioactive or biohazard agents.

· Ensures that correct protocol, radiation dose, and contrast are administered to patient for CT scanning, when ordered as such.

· Moves, transports and positions patients for diagnostic studies.

· Follows Institutional/ Departmental guidelines for patient safety and patient care.

· Interfaces and coordinates with appropriate front office staff as related to duties of the position.

· Follows area policies/guidelines to perform imaging studies of superior technical quality.

License/Certification:

  • ARRT Certification (Required)
  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • CNMT (Required)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
