Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pest Control Technician to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting properties, identifying pest issues, and implementing effective Pest Control measures to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents. The Pest Control Technician will collaborate with property managers, maintenance staff, and residents to address and prevent pest-related issues. This role requires a thorough understanding of Pest Control methods, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.


Responsibilities:

Pest Inspection and Identification:

Conduct thorough inspections of residential and common areas to identify pest infestations and potential breeding grounds.

Recognize and accurately identify various pests, including insects, rodents, and other vermin.

Treatment and Control:

Develop and implement effective Pest Control plans based on the type of infestation.

Utilize appropriate pesticides and treatments to eradicate pests while ensuring the safety of residents, staff, and the environment.

Conduct regular follow-up inspections to monitor the effectiveness of Pest Control measures.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of Pest Control activities, including treatment plans, products used, and follow-up inspections.

Provide timely and accurate reports to property managers and other relevant stakeholders.

Communication:

Collaborate with property management and maintenance teams to address and resolve pest-related issues promptly.

Educate residents on preventive measures and hygiene practices to minimize the risk of pest infestations.

Respond to inquiries and concerns from residents regarding Pest Control issues.

Compliance:

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding Pest Control and pesticide use.

Stay informed about industry best practices and updates in Pest Control methods.

Equipment Maintenance:

Properly maintain and calibrate Pest Control equipment to ensure its functionality and safety.

Report any equipment malfunctions and request repairs or replacements as needed.

Customer Service:

Provide excellent customer service by addressing resident concerns and maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • South Dakota State EPA Certification for Pesticide Application and/or South Dakota State Pesticide Applicator’s License is required.
  • Proven experience as a Pest Control Technician, preferably in a property management setting.
  • Knowledge of pest biology, behavior, and control methods.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing Pest Control.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of the job.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
