POSITION ATTRIBUTES
Effective date of hire, the following attributes will apply to your employment:
Title: Branch 2 & Rodent Technician
Full-Time, year-round
Salary + Performance Bonuses
1st 3 months paid rate of $48,048 annual salary (equivalent to $22/hr working M-F + 1 Sat / mo.)
Salary after 3rd month: $52,416 (equivalent to $24/hr working M-F + 1 Sat / mo.)
After 1st year (with good performance): salary increase to $54,600 (equivalent to $25/hr working M-F + 1 Sat / mo.)
Performance-based bonuses/increases beyond 1st year.
Paid or paid-for CEC training
Opportunities for growth (technical and mgmt path if desired)
JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily operation of a Branch 2Pest Control Service Route
Work M-F, roughly 8 hours, 8-4 or 9-5, with lunch. Lunch is unpaid for. Lunch is 60 min (including drive times). You may work later than 5 pm if you wish. Please note that work may push past 5 pm if behind schedule)
In addition to the above, work 1 additional administrative hour per day, but this may be done from home. Work included in this hour includes but is not limited to: route managing, reporting, sending estimates, etc. If no administrative work is required, you may be asked to work an additional field hour or support supervisor, team or office as needed for that hour.
Work 1 Saturday (9-5) per month
Responsibly use a company charge card for fuel and other needed work-related materials
Prepare and execute Branch 2Pest Control services including but not limited to: General Pest and specialty pest inspections, monitoring, pesticide and rodenticide applications along with other control measures
Prepare for and execute highly detailed Rodent Inspections and Rodent Exclusions as well as exclusions against other wildlife. Rodent Inspections include detailed diagramming, notes and photo reporting with detailed notes for the customer, providing explanations of photos and how each opening/issue will be addressed
Prepare proposals and estimates for customers
Communicate, educate and keep safe all customers under your care
Drive a company vehicle and follow a routed schedule within assigned territory, ensuring punctuality and safe driving
Maintain your work vehicle by keeping it organized and taking it to be washed weekly
Serve as a problem solver for your customers to determine an efficient, practical and safe solution
Time Management. Know what you can and cannot get done for a customer while keeping on schedule
Complete all required documentation, leveraging your cell phone. You may also be provided with other devices as needed.
Perform and/or assist with other tasks as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
3 years industry experience (residential)
Branch 2 License (current, in good standing)
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Strong driving skills (defensive, alert, safe
HS Diploma or GED
US citizen
Ability to work independently
Technological competence
Speak, read and write English fluently
Effective communication skills (verbal and written). Communication between yourself and customers will involve face-to-face, texts, emails, calls and reports.
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, limited fractions and decimals)
Consent to and be able to pass a background check
Willing to sign NDA protecting customer, employee and employer data
Ability to apply pesticides as according to the label
Willing to work with pests such as insects, arachnids and rodents
Willing to work in dirty areas such as crawlspaces where rodent and other pest activity occur
Be willing to conduct yourself and care for yourself as per the Employee Handbook
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Able to safely use a ladder within the manufacturer's weight capacity
Able to lift and carry up to 90 lbs
Able to walk often and perform treatments with 4-gallon backpacks
Have good equilibrium, balance and hand-eye coordination
Able to efficiently and safely walk, crawl, crouch, kneel, climb steps, hills and ladders, traverse attics and roofs, balance on beams in spaces such as attics, crawlspaces. Sometimes all of the aforementioned are for extended periods, including ladder work.
Able to wear and use PPE such as respirators or other masks, crawl-suits, latex or other protective work gloves, eye protection, sometimes for extended periods
Able to work in varying weather conditions, including hot Summer days within safe limits
Safely access attics, crawl-spaces, rooftops, etc.

Health insurance eligibility begins immediately. Begins after 90 days of employment. Pasadena Pest Control will cover 50% of premium.

Dental insurance eligibility begins immediately. For a 6-month probationary period, Pasadena Pest Control will cover 50% of premium. Coverage is only for you (no family plans).
Worker's Compensation
401-K
401-K matching is as follows:
100% matching contributions up to 4% of salary
Must stay a minimum of 1 year to keep matched amounts
Paid Vacation
Paid vacation is accrued at 2 weeks (10 work days) per year, or 1.2 days per month.
For hourly employees, 1 PTO day is paid out as the equivalent to an 8-hour work day at your hourly rate.
For salaried employees, you simply take PTO at no adjustment to your regular paycheck when you utilize accrued PTO days. You are paid additionally for any PTO days you do not utilize each year, according to your salary rate. If you take days off extraneous to that which you have accrued, your salary will be adjusted per the number of days and/or partial days taken and your salary rate.
Holidays
Mandatory holidays are labeled as such because we are closed during them. These mandatory holidays are as follows:
Thanksgiving
Christmas Eve
Christmas
New Years Day
Mandatory holidays are treated as PTO and count against your PTO unless you'd prefer otherwise. If you do prefer otherwise, your pay will be adjusted to reflect these 4 days that you are not working, freeing you to use your PTO elsewhere in the calendar year.
Optional holidays. You may feel welcome to optionally take other holidays off using PTO. You will not, however, earn at a holiday rate for those days.
Paid Sick Leave (PSL)
Upon working for Pasadena Pest Control Inc. for a minimum of 90 days without taking PSL, you are eligible for up to 3 paid sick days per year in addition to your PTO days. Paid Sick Leave is accrued at a rate of 1 hour per 30 hours worked. California requires 5 days and Los Angeles requires 6 days per year, but not if the employer offers at least that in PTO. Thus, we are offering well above the required minimum. You may carryover your accrued sick days to the following year (capped at 10 days).
PSL may be used to:
Recover from physical/mental illness or injury
To seek medical diagnosis, treatment, or preventative care
To care for a family member who is ill or needs medical diagnosis, treatment, or preventative careSick Leave (unpaid)

Fumigations not included in this discount
Treatments must be conducted by discounted employee and on their own time.
PROVISIONS
Company Vehicle
USE. Use of company vehicle is limited to company business and your direct route to and from work (if you are approved for this). Use of your assigned company vehicle is only authorized within these parameters and auto insurance will NOT cover you if you are in an accident outside of the established service area and path to and from home/work.
SECURITY. You are responsible for securing your own vehicle including driving and parking safely, locking the cab, locking your tool and chemical boxes, securing items in bed when not in use. A 3-way dash cam will be installed in your vehicle
CARE/MAINTENANCE.
You are responsible for ensuring your vehicle is cleaned weekly. This does not mean that you have to clean it or pay for the cleaning. "Clean" is defined here as a basic wash for exterior, interior vacuuming and interior wipe-down. You will be provided a charge card to handle the expense.
You are responsible for keeping your truck organized. This is a a daily active effort.
Uniforms
You will be provided blouses / long-sleeve over-shirts, pants, and hats. You are responsible for purchasing:
undershirts (navy blue)
boots (black/brown)
boot socks
belt (black, brown, tan/khaki)
PPE
You will be provided on a continual basis all necessary PPE to safely perform the duties of your role including but not necessarily limited to:
Eye protection
Respiratory protection
Crawl-suits
Gloves
We do not provide sunscreen or sunglasses, but you definitely need these for this job.
