Connor Co., a company rich in history, currently has an available Counter/Inside Sales/ Showroom position in Peru, IL. We are looking for a career-minded person who is looking for a long-term position with a great company.

Candidates must be available to:

· Pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

· Be available to work from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Principal Accountabilities

Inside Sales-Plumbing & HVAC

Accurately interpret customer needs and work with customer and outside sales team to offer appropriate solutions to satisfy requirements

Answers customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses

Arrange and direct delivery of products

Assist outside salesman with quotes, orders, and submittals/O&M’s

Attend industry trade shows and product training

Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support

Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders

Ensure timely order processing and confirmation of orders

Enter orders into the Eclipse ordering system as needed

Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates

Follow-up on estimates and bids submitted to customers

Handle incoming customer requests for quotes and product information (equipment specifications, applications and accessories)

Manage assigned customer orders from origination to delivery

Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products, pricing and sales.

Occasionally may be asked to make deliveries to customers

Occasionally visit jobsites to trouble-shoot problems that can’t be resolved over the phone.

Participate in monthly sales meetings

Participate in organizations, trade shows and conferences.

Position can require after hours phone calls from customers, and occasionally opening up the shop for customers

Process warranty claims

Provide Branch Manager with reports or additional tasks as requested

Provide competitive analysis to outside sales resulting in dealer acquisition

Provide customers with product brochures or catalogs

Provide information on the full range of products and programs offered by the company to the customer

Provide post-sales follow up as required

Provide technical support including monitoring shipping, delivery and return status, as required

Recommend products to customers, based on customer’s needs and interests

Work with customers, outside sales and internal/external suppliers to resolve issues as they arise

Work with other departments to answer questions (i.e., factory, warranty, finance, etc.)

Counter

Enter sales orders into the Eclipse system and pick customer order tickets.

Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections.

Emphasize product features based on customers’ needs and technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations

Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and credit terms.

Inspects materials according to instructions and reports damaged goods.

Process inbound materials to the warehouse. Compares quantities shown on packing slip or manifests with actual items received.

Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

Ensures materials are placed in the designated area within the warehouse.

Stacks skids or pallets in designated area. Cleans up and disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping and places in proper container or designated area.

Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping racks, shelves, pallet area, workstations and counter area neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Serves customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints

Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests

Showroom

Delivers excellent customer service to showroom clients by demonstrating products, explain features, and solicit orders

Recommend products to customers, based on customer’s needs and interests

Answers customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses and schedule appointments

Estimate or quote prices, explain warranties, and delivery dates

Prepare estimates and bids that meet specific customer needs

Follow-up on estimates and bids submitted to customers

Process Return Goods and update Returns Goods Queue

Provide customers with product brochures or catalogs

Consult with clients after sales to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support

Monitor product innovations, and competitors’ products, pricing and sales

Provide Branch Manager with reports or additional tasks as requested

Attend industry trade shows and product training when needed

Minimum Education/Experience Required

High School Diploma or its equivalent

Experience with plumbing and HVAC preferred, but not required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

Ability to learn Eclipse software

Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines

Critical thinker-using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions

Mathematical reasoning- ability to choose the correct method or formulas to solve the problem

Must be able to determine and prioritize workload

Must be very detail-oriented and focused for accuracy

Must have strong interpersonal communication skills

Must maintain a patient and professional attitude while managing a busy workload

Strong organizational skills required

Equipment Used

PC, Calculator, Fax, Telephone, Photocopy Machine, and Forklift

Working Conditions

Normal Warehouse & Office environment

Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.

Physical strength to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
