We are seeking a Personnel, Sr. Benefits Specialist- Retirement that will uphold our core values of integrity, respect, safety, and quality just to name a few.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist employees with questions via the phone, in-person, or email
  • Retirement Plan – Eligibility
    • Manage employee eligibility
      • Run monthly eligibility lists
      • Mail and assemble packets to employees
      • Review enrollment documents
      • Assist employees with enrollment as needed
      • Send enrollment information to appropriate subsidiary contact
    • Approve/reject enrollment requests
    • Review and respond to requests for Employment/Benefits information
      • Medicare and other approved organizations
    • Benefits and Coverage
      • Subject matter expert (SME) in all retirement benefits offered by EPM
      • Provide plan/coverage information to retirees in a consistent manner
      • Provide retirement plan information to employees in a consistent manner
    • Retirement Plan – Payroll System Maintenance
      • Enter 401(k) enrollment information
      • Enter 401(k) deferral changes
      • Enter retirement plan loans
      • Update paid-off loans
      • Enter defaulted loan information
    • Loan Management & Retirement Plan Management
      • Manage the process of deemed/defaulted loans
      • Research employee inquiries concerning loan status and loan payments
      • Generate and review the weekly loan discrepancy reports and identify potential issues
      • Coordinate the rehire process concerning 401(k) eligibility
      • Collect, review, and process annual 401(k) Bonus information
      • Review documents submitted for hardship requests
      • Review unclaimed check reports
      • Update information on the Principal site and answer questions from Principal as requested
    • Leave of Absence/LTD process
      • Call employees to explain options available and complete necessary paperwork
      • Coordinate and submit life waivers
    • Death Claims
      • Coordinate and process
    • Retirees
      • Assist with meetings with potential retirees
      • Retiree Insurance – Claims and Billing
        • Research and assist members with claims
        • Review and process monthly bills from carriers
      • Scan and shred documents
      • Other duties as required to assist the Benefits Department
Qualifications:
  • 2 or more years of HR, Benefits, or related experience in a fast-paced environment required
  • 2 or more years of experience in retirement plan administration preferred
  • Prior experience on cross-functional teams or in an individual role requiring critical and/or process thinking, preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task on various priority projects, and attention to detail and accuracy are essential
  • Confidentiality must be observed at all times
  • Excellent math skills are vital
  • Experience in managing more complex, difficult customer service situations is preferred
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; knowledge of Mainframe and other HR applications is preferred
