Personal Care Aide

Position

Direct Support Staff (DSS) provide an array of services to individuals in a Group Home setting to individuals who have been diagnosed with IDD in community settings. To provide companionship services, care, and protection.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and perform as an effective adult model for people we support.
• Adhere to assigned schedule and report for duty for the hours assigned and implement planned schedule to include activities, menu, and appointments.
• Implement ISP goals.
• Maintain watchful oversight as outlined in the ISP and in accordance with Nue Beginnings Residence Homes Inc. policies and procedures.
• Keep accurate daily documentation of activities (progress notes), fire/ disaster drills, behavior support plans, monitor and track targeted behaviors, medications, ISP tracking, as well as other documentation and enter into documentation the case management system.
• Supervise the self-administration or administer medication for individual.
• Assist in creating a physical environment that lends to progress including house cleaning and laundry.
• Assist with the execution of ADLs.
• Communicate professionally and act respectfully with individuals we serve, support, their families, and community stake holders.
• Assist with coordinating medical and dental appointments for individuals in the home, such as transportation etc.
• Adhere to Nue Beginnings Residence Home Inc. policies concerning confidentiality of consumer information.
• Compliance with Nue Beginnings Residence Home Inc. documentation by use of electronic case management system.
• If applicable, monitor house funds, i.e., making funds available for recreational events, document individual spending of funds, collect receipts and follow Nue Beginnings Residence Home Inc. finance procedures and policies.
• If applicable, develop weekly/monthly menu with individual assistance.
• If applicable, monitor the vehicles assigned to the homes i.e., cleanliness, good repair, etc.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Caregiving: 1 year (Required)
• Driver's License (Required)
• US work authorization (Required)

Education/Experience

High School Diploma and experience in the area of developmental disabilities, mental health, or aging, preferably with the focus being on community-based programs. Minimum of 1 years experience is required.

Job Type: Full and Part Time

Pay:

Group Home Staff starting at $15.00

Schedule:

Monday to Friday 3:45 pm to 12am

Alternating weekends

Saturday and Sunday 7:45 am to 8pm

Monday to Friday 11:45pm to 8am

Alternating weekends

Saturday and Sunday 7:45 pm to 8am

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $15.00/hour.
