Position Summary:
Focusing on sales and service, a Personal Banker provides exceptional in-branch customer service by handling the customer’s needs. This may include opening accounts, processing teller transactions, referral generation, sales & service, account maintenance, and branch balancing responsibilities. Utilizing a needs-based selling approach, this position provides a solution based on the customer’s needs. Personal Bankers build relationships with customers based on trust and recommending financial solutions based on each customer’s goals and needs. This position will work with the banking team to attain branch goals and consistently strive to improve the profitability of the bank.
Essential Functions:
Customer Support:
Process customer’s deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, loan & cash advances, cashier’s checks, money orders, gift cards, and other routine requests.
Provide customers with necessary information and troubleshoot customer issues
Familiar with customer resources to be able to assist customers
Troubleshoot issues with debit cards, online banking, and account issues
Collecting information for outgoing wire transfers
Balance and maintenance of the ITM
Close accounts (excluding IRA & HSA)
Cash vault duties including balancing
Assist customers with access to safe deposit boxes
Open personal accounts for new and existing customers
Performs follow-up with customers
Responsible for account maintenance
Process customer account changes
Assist customers with overdraft lines of credit and credit card applications
Cross-Selling:
- Recognize and informs customers of services for appropriate products and services they currently may not be using. Communicates services offered by other business units and refers them when appropriate
- Comply and work toward branch goals to achieve and/or exceed branch market growth potential
Perform outbound calling to customers and prospects
Other:
Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job functions and apply to designated job responsibilities. Knowledge may be obtained through learning courses and on-the-job training. Must be able to keep up to date on regulation changes. Follow all bank polices and procedures, compliance regulations and completes all required training.
Performs branch operations duties on a daily, weekly, monthly basis (ex: opening/closing duties, balancing of accounts, completion of night drop)
Display a positive attitude and provide support to co-workers
Actively participates in community events to demonstrate support for United Prairie’s culture and values
Recognize any suspicious behavior and have the ability to make decisions on when to consult higher management on any transactions.
