Permitting/Administrative Coordinator
Salary Range: $17-22
Position Summary:
Facilitating the permitting process with various state municipalities. Responsibilities include submitting and securing permits, scheduling required inspections and maintaining necessary reports. Additionally, this position will provide administrative support for the Production Department with clerical duties, as well as providing quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Examples of Work:
- Maintains specialized knowledge relevant to department assignments. For example, technical information regarding building permits, relevant codes and application processes.
- Performs general clerical duties such as word processing, filing, answering phones, referring calls, preparing correspondence, etc.
- Schedule inspections in municipality permitting software or with the permitting authority as necessary.
- Issues/tracks permits for building, electric, plumbing, mechanical, etc.
- Performs specific research tasks under supervision.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Building permitting and inspection process; GIS, BS&A, ACA/ACELA, PSO, LARA BCC, locally specific systems knowledge, or some combination is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to effectively communicate and follow instructions, operate standard office equipment, including computer, scanner, phone, calculator, copier, etc.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, building departments, and our customer base.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, accurately, during high volume situations. Adaptable to unpredictable situations that require a change in focus.
- Efficient, attention to detail, reliable, and a self-starter within a set framework.
- Eager to learn and the desire to grow with a company.
Experience and Training
- High School Graduate or its equivalent.
- Customer service: 3 years (Preferred)
- A strong preference for candidates with prior building codes or permitting experience.
