General Definition of Work
LAKE HAVASU CITY IS SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED PERMIT TECHNICIAN

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs intermediate semiskilled work coordinating the building permit process, assisting customers regarding building and planning permits, updating and maintaining databases and logs, maintaining files and records, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Official.
The ideal candidate should have customer service experience in the construction industry as it relates to the building permit process. They will have superior time management, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills, as well as being dependable and flexible, with the ability to multitask.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED and considerable experience in customer service, permit issuance, administrative and clerical work, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of or ability to obtain Permit Technician certification issued by the International Code Council (ICC) within six (6) months of hire.
Commissioned as a Notary Public in the State of Arizona within six (6) months of hire.
National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) training based on assignment.
Must meet and maintain all training and education requirements for the position.
Valid Arizona Driver License of appropriate class.
