Overview:
The Permit Agent is dedicated to delivering precise permit services for oversized, overweight, and super loads with swift turnaround times for the trucking and transportation sectors in Canada and the US. Responsibilities involve prioritizing optimal travel routes, acquiring essential size / weight permits, and promptly delivering them to clients. With a focus on customer service, the role entails effective communication of permit status and details to Mercury clients. Furthermore, the position involves the submission, download, and communication of permit statuses for each client, embodying our commitment to exceptional customer service.

Essential Responsibilities:

● Facilitate the acquisition of permits for oversized truck loads within the US and
Canada

● Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding permit status
● Handle high volumes of phone and email inquiries
● Efficiently process client orders
● Conduct meticulous data entry tasks
● Demonstrate precision and attention to detail
● Gather pertinent information and determine routes required for permits by conducting thorough research and compiling essential information to identify optimal routes required for obtaining permits across various states in the US and Canada.

● Initiate and manage the timely submission, download, and delivery of permits to clients

● Process payments for requested permits, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions and compliance with established payment procedures.

● Continuously monitor email communications to promptly address any delays in permit processing, taking proactive measures to expedite approvals and keep clients informed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

● Excellent customer service skills with the ability to respond promptly to customer needs and requests

● Minimum of 2+ years previous customer service experience
● Proficiency in various computer applications and software, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to changes within computer applications relevant to the role
● Strong ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately and efficiently
● Ability to read and interpret maps for navigating routes in the US and Canada
● Strong problem-solving skills
● Ability to work independently, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative in tasks
● Strong time management and effective prioritization of tasks and meeting deadlines

● Ability to maintaining focus and attention to detail while balancing multiple tasks
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of the role
● Strong data entry skills with a focus on precision
● 10-key touch experience preferred
● Ability to process payments across both US and Canada platforms, adhering to established procedures
● High School diploma is required

Location & Commitments:

● Full-time, Regular Staff
● Location: Remote
● Core Business Hours (M-F), plus overtime evenings and weekends (as needed)
● Candidate must be a resident of the Tyler, Texas area or within a one-hour drive
● Initial training will be held onsite in Tyler, TX for 2 months; position will be remote following training
