Position:
Role: Peri Sonographer I
Job Location: Allentown PA
Shift: (08:00 - 4:30)
Job Duration: 13+ Weeks [With potential to convert into FTE]
Responsibilities:
Records anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
Maintains electronic patient charts and records to processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the sonogram.
Maintains patient information in the ultrasound documentation/reporting system, image storage system, and EMR. Prepares preliminary reports as requested by the physician.
Uses independent judgement during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
Selects appropriate transducers and adjusts equipment to optimize the images utilizing the available applications and options on the ultrasound machine, based on fetal position, anatomy, and depth of field.
Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes corrective action when possible.
Explains medical studies and procedures to patients so they are well informed regarding the examination.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED and Technical School Diploma Ultrasonography or Associate's Degree Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- RDMS-Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - OB/GYN
- CPR-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation BLS Basic Life Support
- CLEAR-Cervical Length Education and Review
- NT-Nuchal Translucency
