Summary

The Performance Improvement Team is actively recruiting for a Deboning Specialist.  This individual's primary responsibility is to travel and work within a cross functional problem-solving team to proactively implement Performance Improvements within the production and maintenance operations while ensuring timely and cost-efficient production/distribution of Company products. This position interacts with facility management to identify areas of opportunity to improve production and quality standards in a safe manner and promotes and maintains positive working relationships with the production group.

 

This position is remote but travel to other facilities is required.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Knowledge / Understanding of Agristat metrics and calculations and ability to impact them favorably. Lead facility teams to no less than Top 25 ranking performance on yield percentages back to Good Live Pounds. Ability through data and equipment analysis to determine and implement measures for processing improvements in areas such as Meat left on Frame, Butterfly, Tender and Pieces and Trim % of Mix and trimmer efficiencies. Develop debone yield standards (disassembly tree white and dark meat).
  • Develop Best Practices SOP’s that provide the facility management team with tools necessary for improvement. Assist the local management team on proper communication / displays to associates in real time surrounding pertinent in-house facility measurements in the deboning areas.  Ensures debone process and debone equipment strategic plans/upgrade strategy are in place.
  • Works within the KPI structure to manage performance.
  • Develop and lead cross-functional teams (maintenance and operations) to ensure peak performance of all mechanisms / equipment within the deboning area. Own the centerline performance (operating conditions of the equipment on lines).
  • Supports and promotes the company’s annual People, Products, and Profitability goals through effective planning, communication, emphasizing the requirement for all team members to be efficient and effective in their respective responsibilities.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, Agriculture or related discipline, plus 7-10 years of related work experience. 

 

The ideal candidate will also:

  • At least 5-7 years of experience working or leading a Deboning department.
  • Be able to travel to other facilities and plants 50% of their time. 
  • Have a proven track record demonstrating ability to get results.
  • Ability to organize multiple protocols/projects and complete on schedule. Able to develop protocols and processes and deploy. 
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills at both a strategic and functional level. 
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

1. Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. 2. May need to move equipment occasionally. 3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 4. Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. .5. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
