Basic Function
HF Sinclair Midstream is seeking a Performance Improvement Specialist located in Tulsa, OK. The Performance Improvement Specialist assesses and recommends company-wide practices and content utilized for operations and maintenance training. Evaluates training needs for the field operation and maintenance organization and coordinates, recommends, and facilitates training programs/initiatives strategically designed to develop employees' skills, productivity, and/or quality of work and to increase overall performance to achieve the desired business results. Conducts training sessions for the Operations Department under minimal supervision.
Job Duties
(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
  • Organizes and reviews various company-wide Operations training programs/activities and all related aspects of the training programs and/or venues to meet workforce training/development needs, including targeted skills improvement initiatives, refresher requirements, Federal/State/Local regulatory requirements, and/or job classification pay progressions which require additional skills, certifications, and/or qualifications be maintained; provides status updates and compliance reports to Management as required
  • Evaluates, analyzes, and reports on Operations training program effectiveness in order to ensure learning outcome which meets the needs of the Company; makes improvement recommendations as required
  • Organizes and maintains Company practices for tracking and delivering training programs utilizing the LMS and other related learning and development technology for all course delivery methods including e-learning, classroom, and/or other delivery methods; Manages periodic content reviews
  • Ensures documentation of all required training programs within the LMS and/or other systems as needed. Manages all required documentation and records necessary for maintaining Corporate training programs; ensures consistent site training documentation and record tracking
  • Remains current in training industry advancements, regulations, methodologies, and/or technology by attending professional development conferences, seminars, programs, and/or meetings
  • May coordinate with Corporate LMS Administrator on needed functionality changes, enhancements, additional features, etc.
  • May manage, develop, and review all technical documentation and training materials for the Pipeline Excellence Training (i.e., user guides, policies/procedures, etc.) and maintains current versions on the Company's intranet

Special assignments or tasks may be assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience
A minimum of five years of work experience in delivering, facilitating and coordinating organization development and training programs is required. Also, active working knowledge and experience in using and/or managing a Learning Management System (LMS) for training content delivery.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Direct training and supervisory experience and experience conducting training sessions in classroom and field environments for Oil & Gas Operations and Maintenance tasks. Direct experience creating and developing training materials and tools. Direct experience in effective procedure writing.
Education Level
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business, Engineering, Instructional System Design, or related field experience in lieu to degree is required.
Required Skills
Familiarity with the major concepts of pedagogical theory or instructional design. Must demonstrate analytical, training, instructional design and productivity skills with an emphasis on development concepts including relevant learning technologies, methods, and tools. Ability to work independently as a productive team member and show self-initiative in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organizational environment where flexibility and adaptability are necessary. Must demonstrate strong skills in project/program management, customer service/relations, multitasking/prioritization, written/verbal communication, and creative problem solving. Must exercise sound judgment and ethics in safeguarding confidential/sensitive information and can independently make decisions to take appropriate actions. Strong business acumen and consultative skills with the ability to influence others at all levels within the organization. Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) and proficient with Adobe Acrobat and/or Nitro Pro as well as standard e-Learning development tools (i.e. HTML Editor, Camtasia, etc.). Knowledge of company policies and procedures, company LMS, and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
May lead and direct the work of others on a variety of training and LMS projects.
Work Conditions
Office based with travel up to 50% by land or air required (depending on location). Subject to varying road and weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 20lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 10lbs, perceiving color differences, and depending on assigned location the ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted).
