Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Nurse. Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing. Current licensure from the appropriate Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners. Must have a minimum of one (1) year's clinical experience. Must also have a minimum of one year PI nurse experience.
Must have working knowledge of: 1) Documentation for all care delivered; 2) Policy and procedures for standards of nursing care; 3) Competency and skills pertinent to the practice and education of a Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse; 4) Age appropriate care; and 5) Emergency care procedures.
Must have ability to: 1) Read, write, and work with numbers proficiently; 2) Communicate effectively with others; 3) Solve problems pertaining to duties; 4) Demonstrate good telephone technique; and 5) Maintain professionalism at all times. Proficiency in computer skills is preferred.

Job Summary
POSITION STANDARDS:
- Collects PI data from patient records and other sources as instructed.
- Appropriately reports PI data in report form to designated committees in a proficient and timely manner.
- Accurately enters PI data into the appropriate database in a timely manner.
- Promptly and accurately tabulates data as needed.
- Is knowledgeable of the standards and requirements of the hospital's licensing and accrediting agencies, as well as, the current Medical Staff Bylaws.
- Acts as PI liaison with both medical staff and hospital staff.
- Works with hospital-wide departments to establish annual PI goals.
- Provides guidance and education to hospital-wide departments, when requested, with PI project data collection and creation of reports.
- Assists with other PI projects and duties as assigned.
