Performance Associate, Operational Excellence

Operational Excellence (OE) team
is charged with eliminating waste and redesigning operations to enable continued success and optimize the patient experience. The OE team thinks beyond what’s expected, from simplifying patient registration and decreasing operating room turnover time to streamlining the discharge process. The OE department is highly visible, reporting directly to the CEO, and all members have the opportunity to work with multidisciplinary teams comprised of clinical and business leaders. As a part of this team, you’ll be an essential resource, helping our hospital stay on top of our game, so we can ensure our patients do the same.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Planning, The OE Performance Associate role will fill an essential role for the overall success of OE programs at HSS. The role will support projects in all OE verticals in analytical and project management capacity. This role will be responsible for building, monitoring, and maintaining data for key operational processes and strategic programs, support multi-disciplinary project teams focusing on process improvement efforts. The Analyst will leverage skills and resources to ensure project success, perform ROI analysis on identified business opportunities in collaboration with other CAMP team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform observations, interviews, and data analysis for key strategic initiatives and process improvement projects
  • Develop leadership-ready materials, facilitate discussions with multiple stakeholders, design and execute analyses and build complex models to support decision-making
  • Provide in-depth support on operational performance improvement and strategic planning projects, including project management, analytical support, and implementing best practice performance standards
  • Assist in developing performance metrics, completing current and future state assessments, root cause analyses, and present recommendations in a manner necessary for decision making
Qualifications:
Education and Experience - Required
  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 2
  • At least one (1) year of related experience working with MS Office Suite and data visualization tools to produce high-quality deliverables consistently

Skills – Required
  • Strong knowledge of various software and spreadsheet applications used in process mapping, process design, and work-flow management (e.g., MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to tell a story with data
  • Ability to synthesize information to see the big picture while effectively managing smaller details
  • Ability to acquire skills and knowledge effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to influence people, build relationships and collaborate
  • Experienced problem solver using quantitative techniques
Skills & Experience – Preferred
  • Masters degree
  • Years of Experience: 4+
  • Experience in healthcare or hospital operations consulting
  • Experience in designing and implementing complex analyses, tailoring communication of findings to stakeholders
  • Experience in managing projects effectively
  • Strong knowledge of Tableau
  • Experience in analyzing business processes to formulate written and spoken process improvement concepts
