Job Summary
The primary purpose of the Housekeeper, under the general supervision of the Housekeeping & Laundry Manager, is to perform general cleaning functions for the Housekeeping Department in accordance with our mission statement, current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Manager and/or the Director of Environmental Services, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. All duties will be performed with an emphasis on the value of providing quality customer service to all residents, family members, co-workers, volunteers, visitors, and other service professionals.
Qualifications
Required
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
- Must possess knowledge of the appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population.
- Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to a minimum of 50 lbs. Anything heavier than 50 lbs. must require assistance or assistive equipment for task to be performed safely.
Preferred
- Previous experience as a housekeeper in a long-term care facility or medical environment.
- Basic knowledge of computers preferred.
