Job Summary: Due to growth, HonorBridge is recruiting Per Diem Circulator Registered Nurse(s) to work in our new Donor Care Center in Chapel Hill, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra-operative period of organ recoveries. You will assess the organ recovery needs, plan nursing care accordingly and monitor compliance to established standards and policies and procedures for surgical scrubs. This is an On call/Per Diem Position. Individuals will be called in on an as needed basis and required to work in our Donor Care Center in Chapel Hill, NC.
Compensation: $750 flat rate per case. A flat rate of $250.00 will be paid if a case is cancelled/aborted within the first two hours after being called in. Cases will range from 2 hours to 8 hours with the total time for cases averaging around 6 hours.

- Assists in the setting up and performance of cases by assembly of equipment and supplies according to sterile technique.
- Prepares each donor for recovery by: positioning the donor in the appropriate position, preparing the donor's operative site, and helping move the donor to and from the operating table.
- Assists in the setting up and performance of cases by opening of sterile pack, instruments, and supplies according to sterile technique.
- Performs surgical counts (sponges, sharps, and instruments)
- Performs infection control activities to include observation of the surgical team during procedures, taking corrective actions as needed to maintain aseptic technique. Provides a surgically clean environment for patient care. Ensures the sterility of supplies and instrumentation used during operative procedures.
- Assists in the clean-up of the operating room following organ recovery, including proper disposal of used supplies and sharps.
- Properly documents clinical activity
- Follows HonorBridge policies and procedures related to documentation
- Submits paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
- Completes post-mortem care
- Assists with performing a post-clean of operating room for case turn over
- Maintains clean, safe, and organized HonorBridge work areas
Physical Requirements:
Lifting and/or carrying < 20 lbs: Greater than 65% of the time
Lifting and/or carrying < 50 lbs: 35%-65% of the time
Lifting and/or carrying < 100 lbs: Less than 35% of the time
What we are looking for:
- Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of north Carolina required
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current BLS and ACLS, certification required.
- A valid drivers license
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to analyze and interpret data in high-pressure situations
- knowledge of operating room environment
- Experience in form completion and documentation
- Valid state driver's license required.
