ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled People Operations Manager who can build the company’s human resources and business administration functions in a dynamic environment.

In this pivotal role, you will report to the Chief Operating Officer and serve as a thought-partner and leader in scaling up CAST.ERA’s workforce during an exciting growth period. Additionally, process creation and risk mitigation throughout the business’ operations responsibilities (like, procurement, invoicing, facilities management, & administration) allow for creativity through structure.

The ideal candidate is a initiative-taker with a high EQ, and capacity to build and lead the various HR components to support a growing staff of software engineers. Talent acquisition prowess and/or experience in technical recruiting would be an asset to this position, along with expertise in performance management programs, employee relations, and employee experience and culture building. Excellent interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of HR best practices, and the ability to drive initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive work environment would be markers of a successful person in this position.

Human Resources:

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent via multiple channels, like passive searches or agency recruitment.
  • Lead the hiring process, including job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and extending job offers.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and ensure timely fulfillment of positions.
  • Enhance onboarding programs to facilitate new employees' integration into the organization.
  • Manage the offboarding process, including exit interviews and documentation, to ensure a smooth transition for departing employees.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances. Mediate and facilitate conversations to resolve conflict as needed.
  • Implement initiatives to promote employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Create and administer performance management programs, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers and employees to enhance performance and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, regulations, and company policies. Maintain Employee Handbook and accompanying policies as necessary to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, benefits enrollment, and payroll information.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other rewards. Communicate updates and changes to employees, and recommend enhancements based on best practices and experience.

Business Administration

  • Manage purchase order process & tracking with Finance Team. Support ordering and procurement of technical equipment.
  • Develop and manage HR and operations budget.
  • Oversee contract review and tracking for applicable vendors and staffing agencies as needed.
  • Serve as point person for facilities management, which includes but is not limited to: space improvements, safety equipment maintenance, supplies, service calls, office access, and security.
  • Support team-building activities and office events.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years proven experience in human resources management.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
  • 3+ years of business administration or office management experience.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to manage complex challenges.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficient in working autonomously, navigating uncertainty, and fostering collaboration in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Technical recruiting and start-up experience highly preferred.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
