Job description
Main Purpose
Reporting to the Regional People and Culture Manager, you will act as a credible business-oriented solution provider and trusted partner in relation to people, culture, and human resources needs. You will be involved with the talent agenda, employee experience, union needs, compensation reviews, employee relations, investigations, and succession planning for your respective area. Operate day-to-day as part of the plant leadership teams and take responsibility for driving people outcomes. You should be a doer, problem solver, team builder, and effective communicator. You should have a passion for serving others. You will have a good balance of operational and strategic thinking.
This position will be supporting facilities in Millington, TN, Saraland, AL, and the Gulf Coast and will require up to 40% travel.
The role
Key job responsibilities

  • Assist the People and Culture function in all related activities
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures company compliance
  • Responsible for company compliance with Federal and State legislation
  • Assist in the development and administration of various human resources plans and procedures for local personnel
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to affect continual improvements in efficiency of local department and services performed
  • Assist in implementing department goals and objectives, and systems
  • Conduct interviews, onboarding, new-employee orientations and exit interviews
  • Advise leadership in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • A resource to employees regarding benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
  • Oversee and manage company leave of absence program (FMLA, LOA, WC, STD, LTD)
  • Track all ADA requests for the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

The person
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • Experience with SAP - SuccessFactors preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of human resource experience required
  • Experience presenting Power point presentations and facilitating group meetings required
  • Experience in a Union Environment preferred
  • Strong conflict management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a high level of professionalism and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
  • Effectively envision, develop, and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex business issues.
  • Manage multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Be self directed and motivated.
  • Take initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.
