Purpose and Mission

Founded in 1999, CFUF strengthens urban communities by helping fathers and families achieve stability and economic success. As a pioneer in responsible fatherhood, family strengthening, and workforce development, CFUF’s programs seek to help clients fully exit poverty and sustain themselves and their families. CFUF serves Baltimore’s most marginalized populations living in high crime and high poverty communities. Our members (the term we use when referring to our clients) are 98% African American, 60% male, 89% unemployed, 50% ex-offenders and homeless, and 30% without high school diplomas. Over 90% face one or multiple temporary or chronic personal, logistical, or human barriers.

What We Need:
We are seeking a mission-driven, service-oriented People & Culture Coordinator who will function as the first point-of-contact on people matters such as processing payroll, talent acquisition and engagement, and Human Resources administrative support. If you can provide premier customer service support to internal staff, management, and leadership, enjoy being employee facing, and can engage with staff to support our culture of diversity, equity, civility, and respect, this may be the role for you!

This jack-of all-trades role reports to the Director of People & Culture and is responsible for providing transitional and tactical Human Resources support in the areas of recruitment, benefits administration, new hire processing, ADP payroll/ HRIS systems management, records management, and a variety of Human Resources functions and initiatives.

THIS ROLE WILL BE FULLY ONSITE DURING THE ORIENTATION PERIOD. A FLEXIBLE 4 IN-OFFICE/1 REMOTE SCHEDULE WILL BE CONSIDERED FOLLOWING THAT PERIOD.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (includes but is not limited to)


Generalized HR Support

  • Prepare and maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using Human Resources management system software.
  • Maintain and update Human Resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms.
  • Ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.


Payroll Support

  • Process ADP payroll on a bi-weekly basis in collaboration with Finance department.
  • Audit ADP payroll records to ensure benefit deductions are processed effectively.
  • Generate bi-weekly payroll reports for the Finance department for their use in generating financial statements.
  • Generate and manually create 403b funding reports in accordance with payroll schedule.

HRIS Management

  • Responsible for updating employee records in ADP Workforce Now
  • Partner with ADP support to resolve timekeeping and leave management errors.
  • Provide Time & Attendance support to employees and managers.
  • Assist with ADP training with new hires and managers.

Benefits Administration

  • Process employee qualifying event changes for all benefits.
  • Process new hire benefits enrollment and terminations.

Recruitment

  • Post job announcements to appropriate job boards and announce to internal staff.
  • Source for qualified job candidates, utilizing networking, media advertisements, job fairs, recruiting firms, or employee referrals.
  • Pre-screen job applicants to obtain qualifications and viability for open positions
  • Schedule interviews and communication with candidates and managers.
  • Coordinate pre-employment process, to include backgrounds, drug screenings, and drafting offer letters

Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support to Director, People & Culture
  • Process monthly bills, receipts, invoices as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in full-cycle Human Resources support. A related combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrable experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS platforms
  • Possess strong business acumen, which refers to the ability to understand and apply information in a confidential manner that supports the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Be professional, service-centered, approachable
  • Must be extremely detail oriented and focused. Have demonstrated ability to juggle multiple assignments and set appropriate priorities.
  • Thorough knowledge and adeptness at using Microsoft Office applications and suites, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom.
  • Serious commitment to providing excellent customer service with a high level of motivation.
